Born in 1960 in the small town of Carthage in upstate New York, Alvin Camidge is a visual artist with a wide range of style and mediums. This comes from his unique background before becoming a professional artist. During and after his enlistment in the USAF as a ground equipment mechanic he studied his passion for comic art. As a result he created his “Comic book Legends” series of drawings and “marker pen” art that ended in more than 50 pieces. Upon completion of “Legends” He further expanded his technique and style by studying from drawing magazines and other books on that subject resulting in two additional series of work “MovieTime” which portrayed well-known movie stars such as” Clint Eastwood as Josie Wales, Marylyn Monroe and John Wayne” and “Heroes of Rock” series that portrays rock music icons such as “The Beatles, Elvis Presley, The Doors and Janis Joplin”. It was then in his life where he made a decision to pursue a new career to become a professional artist due to the great response to the above mentioned series of work. His formal art education started at Victor Valley College in the small High Desert community of Victorville California in 2002. While going to college there he was responsible for founding the Artistic Image Makers the art club at that college. He also started training on producing digital art to include 3D Animation, Video Editing and using vector based programs. He graduated from this college in Spring 2005 with the Associates of Arts Degree and a 3Ds Max Artist Technician certification. He continued his art education by earning the Bachelor of Arts degree from San Francisco State University.  Mr. Alvin Camidge now resides in San Francisco California.
